As Director of Tournament Services, I manage the infrastructure at robotics tournaments that serve as a dynamic, hands-on platform for young students to explore and develop STEM skills. These events go beyond competition—they encourage problem-solving, creative thinking, and collaborative teamwork, igniting a lasting passion for STEM. Seeing engineering-minded students thrive in an environment that supports experimentation and learning is deeply rewarding, as they build essential skills in programming, design, and mechanical engineering while also growing in areas like sportsmanship, communication, and resilience.
Executing a high-caliber robotics tournament demands meticulous planning, strategic partnerships, and resilient problem-solving. I’m responsible for overseeing the technological backbone of these events, ensuring each component—from scoring systems to audio-visual setups—runs smoothly and reliably. Managing this infrastructure requires a blend of technical skill and real-time adaptability, a challenge I embrace. These events are months in the making, and delivering a seamless experience is a source of immense satisfaction, as it allows students to focus fully on their competition, learning, and growth.
